THE Green Party is to stand a full slate of 30 candidates for 10 wards in the 'all-out' election for Rossendale Borough Council.
Every seat on the authority will be contested on Thursday, May 2 on a redrawn voting map which cuts the number of wards from 14 and councillors from 36.
Rossendale party spokesperson Cllr Julie Adshead, currently its only councillor representing the former Whitewell ward, said: “We are so proud to have such a full and committed team of Green Party candidates ready to represent communities across Rossendale in the council elections on Thursday May 2.
“When you vote Green on May 2, you will be helping to elect hardworking councillors committed to making Rossendale a fairer, greener place.
"Rossendale Green Party is the only party to be fielding three candidates in each of the new wards.
"That’s 30 candidates in total. ”
Formed less than three years ago, Rossendale Green Party has an expanding membership.
Cllr Adshead said: "A vote for a Green Party candidate is a vote to change the narrative of local and national politics.
"This will help to build a better future for everyone and for the planet."
