BURNLEY were denied a fifth win in six unbeaten games by Paul Connolly's stoppage time equaliser.
The Clarets looked on course to secure three hard-earned points courtesy of Chris McCann's 59th minute goal.
But, after producing the better chances in the first half, Derby kept going, and grabbed a point with their last throw of the dice.
McCann broke the deadlock after capitalising on a mistake by Stephen Bywater. The Derby goalkeeper caught Chris Eagles' right wing cross, but spilled the ball after bumping into centre half Martin Albrechtsen, and midfielder McCann was on hand to stroke the ball into an empty net from close range.
After that, Robbie Blake fired a shot into the side netting, and substitute Joey Gudjonsson had valid appeals for a penalty turned down.
But the Iceland international wasted a free kick as the clock ticked down, and it proved costly as Derby were allowed to take the ball up to the other end, where Connolly converted Gary Teale's left-wing cross at the far post.
