A Blackburn church was the venue for a warm event for families in the run up to Christmas.

The Christ Apostolic Church Mount Zion International is based on the corner of Johnston Street and Addison Close, was formerly the St Barnabas Church.

It is run by Pastor Michael Ajibola and his wife Mabel who took over the building 12 years ago.

Local residents were invited to the ‘Celebrate Event of Songs in Winter’ from noon.

Food was served to everyone who attended and the event was being run in conjunction with the Cadent Centre for Warmth project managed by Bangor Street Community Centre.
